Novak Djokovic won his 25th tournament title of the year on Sunday, clinching his seventh year-end No. 1 ranking in the process.

It’s the seventh time he’s done so, bringing him level with Pete Sampras (who finished his career with eight). Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray have all earned the top spot on more than one occasion, but none have reached as many titles as Djokovic in a single season.

In addition to Djokovic, Serena Williams, Victoria Azarenka and Angelique Kerber all topped the winners list on Sunday, but there were no standout performances: Five women finished with more than two titles, as did six men, with Nadal, Djokovic and Murray each reaching three. Perhaps the most notable and drastic shift in the rankings came in the women’s category, where Azarenka jumped 34 spots from a 7th place ranking on May 21 to finish at No. 1, her first No. 1 berth since 2013.

Azarenka also was a runner-up in India on Sunday, losing to American Sloane Stephens in the final.
