Trump denies reports he’ll be drug tested for presidential debate

President Trump denied Monday reports that he would undergo pre-debate doping tests prior to the first presidential debate with Democratic challenger Hillary Clinton.

“The Fake News and #CrookedHillary are reporting that I am going to do doping tests prior to the Presidential Debate. Wrong – don’t fit the pattern!” Trump tweeted Monday.

…Never going to happen. I don’t believe there is anything wrong with me, personally. I respect the men and women of the Olympic Movement, I even respect Hillary. I have never doped. Too much of a great thing! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 6, 2018

The Daily Mail reported that the president has been in contact with the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency and asked the agency to request that he undergo a pre-debate drug test prior to the first of three scheduled face-offs with Clinton on Sept. 4.

“Several informed sources have told us the president asked for USADA to look into this just days ago,” the publication reported.

The government’s World Anti-Doping Agency has a separate pre-debate testing program.

But the Trump campaign said there was no truth to the story.

“It has not happened and it will not happen,” Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale told Fox News on Monday.
